THE STORY OF SP SQUIRREL
SP Squirrel is the culmination of three generations of 'crafty' ladies. It started as just a hobby, but after moving Grandma Alice down to Texas with us, the Chief Nut (Megan) beating cancer and the Creative Nut Judy retiring from her day job we decided to make a go of this professionally.
There was just one little problem...we have a lot of squirrels running through our household!! It all started with the mermaid tail blankets. We like to re- & up-cycle whenever possible and when we saw the remnants from making the adult tails we thought 'what to do'? Squirrel #1: Doll tail blankets! Squirrel #2: woven dog toys (which helped time go by quickly during chemo)! Squirrel #3: grandma's balls, dolls & mobility bags. Followed by countless other squirrels who all had really great ideas! So, while there may not be obvious continuity of products, these are all items we've made with love, that have brought joy to folks over the years and that we hope will continue to do so!

Typically you'll find this nut in, on or near the water. Both crafting skills & wanderlust were inherited from the Creative Nut. When adventures were cut short by a cancer diagnosis, it was time to put the old business degree to use - and so SP Squirrel Designs was born!

'Normal' is not in this nut's vocabulary! Trained as a draftsman before it was acceptable, this nut has always created magic - from quilts & cross-stitching to personalized blankets & other creations. Retired from Southwest Airlines (where her sewing skills are missed), SP Squirrel was born to help keep her busy!

Grandma Squirrel
Grandma was always a sewer and crafter - and thus the creative legacy was born! After moving to Texas from Ohio, she likes to say that sewing keeps her out of trouble. It truly brings her joy when folks enjoy her sometimes nostalgic & always useful creations. Going on 90 this year, quite impressive!

With a background in IT, now retired from Southwest Airlines Dennis helps us with technical expertise. Suzy & Murphy work hard to assist where they can and make certain that all canine products are up to snuff. (Suzy is also our muse & model)
